Shenandoah has had a litter of 7, 5 Blues and 2 Lilacs. Fortunately, there are good homes waiting! The little rabbits are friendly, and rush to the hutch door when I arrive, to see what is on offer. There is a manoeuvre with which all rabbit owners are familiar- open the hutch door a crack, insert a hand and carefully push the little rabbits back so it is safe to open the door properly! Then distract with greens whilst checking water, food and hay. It is quite different if a stranger arrives. Then there is a stampede to the furthest corner of the hutch, with the mother poised protectively in front.
