It is always difficult counting baby rabbits in the nest. I thought there were six, but there were two more underneath! Five Smokes, and three Blues. It is important to handle rabbits in the nest for socialisation. It is extra important to check long Angora wool doesn't get tangled around necks and limbs. I use a pair of embroidery scissors to snip it into short lengths, as movement of the babies in the nest can spin it into cord. Jinx is a good mother and doesn't mind me checking her nest, but I always distract her with grass and dandelion treats.
